Investing.com – China equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Life Insurance, Telecoms and Mobile sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite declined 0.70%, while the SZSE Component index lost 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Riyue Heavy Industry Co Ltd (SS:603218), which rose 10.01% or 2.020 points to trade at 22.190 at the close. Jiangsu Rutong Petro-Machinery Co Ltd (SS:603036) added 9.99% or 1.700 points to end at 18.710 and Great-Sun Foods Co Ltd (SS:603336) was up 9.98% or 2.090 points to 23.030 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Shanghai Diesel Engine Co Ltd A (SS:600841), which lost 10.01% or 1.580 points to trade at 14.210 in late trade. Shanghai Wondertek Software Co Ltd (SS:603189) declined 9.79% or 2.120 points to end at 19.530 and Zhejiang Tiancheng Controls Co Ltd (SS:603085) shed 9.32% or 2.80 points to 27.24.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Zhejiang Hisoar Pharmaceutical Co Ltd (SZ:002099) which rose 10.10% to 5.56, Jiangxi Huangshanghuang Group Food Co Ltd (SZ:002695) which was up 10.00% to settle at 17.05 and Vtron Technologies Ltd (SZ:002308) which gained 10.00% to close at 10.230.
The worst performers were Shenzhen Shenxin Taifeng Group Co Ltd (SZ:000034) which was down 5.71% to 20.33 in late trade, Hunan China Sun Pharma Machinery (SZ:300216) which lost 5.21% to settle at 8.55 and Cefc Anhui International Holding Co Ltd (SZ:002018) which was down 4.98% to 2.48 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 892 to 439 and 47 ended unchanged on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.27.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.45% or 5.80 to $1296.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.48% or 0.34 to hit $70.97 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.52% or 0.41 to trade at $78.02 a barrel.
USD/CNY was down 0.05% to 6.3666, while EUR/CNY fell 0.05% to 7.5454.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 93.02.
