Investing.com – China equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Mobile and Travel & Leisure sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite lost 0.17%, while the SZSE Component index declined 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Hunan Baili Engineering Sci & Tech Co Ltd (SS:603959), which rose 9.98% or 1.620 points to trade at 17.860 at the close. Sanjiang Shopping Club Co Ltd (SS:601116) added 9.97% or 1.410 points to end at 15.550 and Zhejiang Jiahua Energy Chemical Industry Co Ltd (SS:600273) was up 9.72% or 0.800 points to 9.030 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Zhonglu Co Ltd A (SS:600818), which lost 7.56% or 0.990 points to trade at 12.100 in late trade. Zhangjiagang Freetrade Science and Technology Co Ltd (SS:600794) declined 6.98% or 0.210 points to end at 2.800 and Jiangsu Jingshen Salt & Chemical Industry Co Ltd (SS:603299) shed 6.95% or 0.470 points to 6.290.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Shenzhen Jiawei Photovoltaic Lighting Co Ltd (SZ:300317) which rose 10.04% to 6.03, Guangdong Nanyang Cable Group Holding Co Ltd (SZ:002212) which was up 10.02% to settle at 11.75 and Shanghai Kingstar Winning Software (SZ:300253) which gained 10.00% to close at 14.08.
The worst performers were Fujian Guanfu Modern Household Wares Co Ltd (SZ:002102) which was down 10.12% to 2.93 in late trade, Hand Enterprise Solutions Co (SZ:300170) which lost 10.03% to settle at 9.96 and Chenzhou Jingui Silver Industry Co Ltd (SZ:002716) which was down 10.03% to 7.98 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 817 to 557 and 70 ended unchanged on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was down 4.06% to 22.92.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.26% or 3.10 to $1207.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.06% or 0.04 to hit $69.81 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.26% or 0.20 to trade at $77.84 a barrel.
USD/CNY was down 0.09% to 6.8254, while EUR/CNY fell 0.01% to 7.9280.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 95.00.
