Investing.com – China equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Travel & Leisure, Life Insurance and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite added 0.34%, while the SZSE Component index gained 0.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Henan Ancai Hi-tech Co Ltd (SS:600207), which rose 10.04% or 0.810 points to trade at 8.880 at the close. Changzhou Shenli Electrical Machine Incorporated Co (SS:603819) added 10.03% or 1.650 points to end at 18.100 and ADD Industry Zhejiang Co Ltd (SS:603089) was up 9.99% or 2.36 points to 25.99 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Qingdao Copton Technology Co Ltd (SS:603798), which lost 10.02% or 2.030 points to trade at 18.230 in late trade. Shanghai Wondertek Software Co Ltd (SS:603189) declined 10.01% or 2.190 points to end at 19.680 and Suzhou Xingye Materials Technology Co Ltd (SS:603928) shed 10.01% or 2.180 points to 19.590.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Beijing SL Pharmaceutical Co Ltd (SZ:002038) which rose 9.99% to 47.23, JPMF Guangdong Co Ltd (SZ:002600) which was up 7.73% to settle at 7.25 and Zhejiang Wanfeng Auto Wheel Co Ltd (SZ:002085) which gained 6.54% to close at 11.24.
The worst performers were Beijing Miteno Communication Technology Co Ltd (SZ:300038) which was down 10.00% to 15.57 in late trade, Cofco Biochemical Anhui Co Ltd (SZ:000930) which lost 9.97% to settle at 12.01 and Wangsu Science Tech (SZ:300017) which was down 8.02% to 12.38 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 854 to 465 and 56 ended unchanged on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was unchanged 0.00% to 19.75 a new 3-month low.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.01% or 0.10 to $1320.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.48% or 0.34 to hit $70.36 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.60% or 0.46 to trade at $76.66 a barrel.
USD/CNY was up 0.07% to 6.3387, while EUR/CNY rose 0.32% to 7.5887.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 92.27.
