Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Real Estate, Financials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa lost 1.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Embraer SA (SA:EMBR3), which rose 1.51% or 0.24 points to trade at 16.14 at the close. Gerdau SA Pref (SA:GGBR4) added 1.26% or 0.14 points to end at 11.27 and BB Seguridade Participacoes SA (SA:BBSE3) was up 1.08% or 0.30 points to 28.14 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kroton Educacional SA (SA:KROT3), which lost 4.07% or 0.75 points to trade at 17.69 in late trade. Banco do Brasil SA (SA:BBAS3) declined 3.87% or 1.24 points to end at 30.77 and WEG SA (SA:WEGE3) shed 3.31% or 0.79 points to 23.06.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 220 to 156 and 32 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 4.73% to 34.04.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 1.50% or 19.00 to $1247.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.25% or 0.70 to hit $56.66 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract fell 2.43% or 3.06 to trade at $122.97 .
USD/BRL was up 1.69% to 3.2905, while EUR/BRL rose 1.53% to 3.8750.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 93.75.
