Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Real Estate and Public Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 1.03% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Bradespar SA (SA:BRAP4), which rose 3.57% or 1.04 points to trade at 30.17 at the close. Embraer SA (SA:EMBR3) added 2.21% or 0.42 points to end at 19.42 and Vale SA (SA:VALE3) was up 2.17% or 1.08 points to 50.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Marfrig Alimentos SA (SA:MRFG3), which lost 9.30% or 0.64 points to trade at 6.24 in late trade. B2W Cia Digital (SA:BTOW3) declined 3.63% or 1.03 points to end at 27.36 and Banco do Brasil SA (SA:BBAS3) shed 3.52% or 1.14 points to 31.26.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 257 to 173 and 32 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 6.49% to 37.07.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.63% or 7.50 to $1191.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.67% or 0.44 to hit $65.90 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract fell 0.66% or 0.67 to trade at $101.25 .
USD/BRL was up 0.28% to 3.9152, while EUR/BRL rose 0.82% to 4.4777.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.51% at 95.99.
