Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Real Estate, Financials and Consumption sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.79%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Natura Cosmeticos SA (SA:NATU3), which rose 14.65% or 4.60 points to trade at 36.00 at the close. EDP - Energias do Brasil SA (SA:ENBR3) added 15.56% or 2.10 points to end at 15.60 and B2W Cia Digital (SA:BTOW3) was up 7.96% or 2.24 points to 30.39 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kroton Educacional SA (SA:KROT3), which lost 16.65% or 2.19 points to trade at 10.96 in late trade. Estacio Participacoes SA (SA:ESTC3) declined 10.65% or 3.30 points to end at 27.70 and Cia de Saneamento Basico do Estado (SA:SBSP3) shed 6.02% or 1.85 points to 28.88.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 227 to 225 and 29 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 2.41% to 27.25.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.21% or 2.80 to $1319.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.09% or 0.78 to hit $70.58 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract fell 0.25% or 0.30 to trade at $119.28 .
USD/BRL was up 1.41% to 3.5997, while EUR/BRL rose 1.65% to 4.2995.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 92.41.
