Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumption, Industrials and Real Estate sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.61%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB3), which rose 4.23% or 1.83 points to trade at 45.14 at the close. Raia Drogasil SA (SA:RADL3) added 2.85% or 1.94 points to end at 69.89 and Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA:ELET3) was up 2.19% or 0.31 points to 14.44 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cia Siderurgica Nacional SA (SA:CSNA3), which lost 5.02% or 0.40 points to trade at 7.57 in late trade. Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (SA:USIM5) declined 4.44% or 0.35 points to end at 7.53 and Embraer SA (SA:EMBR3) shed 4.34% or 0.98 points to 21.58.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 208 to 207 and 36 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 4.34% to 32.70.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.05% or 13.20 to $1242.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 4.66% or 3.45 to hit $70.66 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract fell 2.18% or 2.50 to trade at $112.03 .
USD/BRL was up 1.61% to 3.8769, while EUR/BRL rose 1.01% to 4.5267.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.67% at 94.48.
