Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Consumption and Real Estate sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were RUMO Logistica Operadora Multimodal SA (SA:RAIL3), which rose 3.41% or 0.49 points to trade at 14.85 at the close. EcoRodovias SA (SA:ECOR3) added 1.95% or 0.19 points to end at 9.95 and Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (SA:USIM5) was up 1.68% or 0.18 points to 10.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included BRF SA (SA:BRFS3), which lost 3.58% or 0.92 points to trade at 24.80 in late trade. Natura Cosmeticos SA (SA:NATU3) declined 3.42% or 1.14 points to end at 32.21 and Bradespar SA (SA:BRAP4) shed 2.47% or 0.90 points to 35.56.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 227 to 209 and 28 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 4.60% to 27.75.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.48% or 6.40 to $1317.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.50% or 0.34 to hit $68.44 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract rose 0.71% or 0.86 to trade at $122.78 .
USD/BRL was up 1.33% to 3.5034, while EUR/BRL rose 0.93% to 4.2327.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 91.62.
