Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Electric Power, Financials and Consumption sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa lost 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were JBS SA (SA:JBSS3), which rose 5.34% or 0.45 points to trade at 8.88 at the close. Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB5) added 3.80% or 0.65 points to end at 17.75 and Multiplan SA (SA:MULT3) was up 3.37% or 2.41 points to 73.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Natura Cosmeticos SA (SA:NATU3), which lost 3.00% or 0.90 points to trade at 29.15 in late trade. Companhia Brasileira deDistribuicao (SA:PCAR4) declined 2.83% or 2.13 points to end at 73.17 and CEMIG - Companhia Energetica Minas Gerais Pref (SA:CMIG4) shed 2.05% or 0.18 points to 8.59.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 197 to 167 and 44 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.14% to 25.08.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.30% or 3.88 to $1295.88 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.78% or 0.37 to hit $47.80 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 2.66% or 3.40 to trade at $131.32 .
USD/BRL was up 0.23% to 3.1549, while EUR/BRL rose 1.33% to 3.7637.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.87% at 92.42.
