Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Real Estate, Consumption and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB3), which rose 21.79% or 5.10 points to trade at 28.50 at the close. Estacio Participacoes SA (SA:ESTC3) added 8.98% or 3.00 points to end at 36.40 and Lojas Americanas SA (SA:LAME4) was up 2.96% or 0.51 points to 17.72 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Qualicorp SA (SA:QUAL3), which lost 11.68% or 2.91 points to trade at 22.00 in late trade. Fibria Celulose SA (SA:FIBR3) declined 10.22% or 7.31 points to end at 64.25 and BR Malls Participacoes SA (SA:BRML3) shed 2.77% or 0.32 points to 11.23.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 206 to 201 and 27 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 11.02% to 25.52 a new 1-month low.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.33% or 4.30 to $1313.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.72% or 1.05 to hit $62.24 a barrel, while the May US coffee C contract fell 0.54% or 0.64 to trade at $118.28 .
USD/BRL was down 0.26% to 3.2774, while EUR/BRL fell 0.46% to 4.0250.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 90.20.
