Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Real Estate and Consumption sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 0.34%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Estacio Participacoes SA (SA:ESTC3), which rose 3.80% or 0.63 points to trade at 17.19 at the close. Kroton Educacional SA (SA:KROT3) added 3.65% or 0.51 points to end at 14.49 and RUMO Logistica Operadora Multimodal SA (SA:RAIL3) was up 3.21% or 0.25 points to 8.03 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA:ELET6), which lost 2.98% or 0.53 points to trade at 17.26 in late trade. JBS SA (SA:JBSS3) declined 2.53% or 0.20 points to end at 7.70 and Petroleo Brasileiro SA PN (SA:PETR4) shed 2.35% or 0.31 points to 12.87.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 189 to 163 and 36 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 3.40% to 34.90.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.58% or 7.57 to $1289.93 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 4.96% or 2.39 to hit $45.80 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract rose 0.22% or 0.28 to trade at $125.90 .
USD/BRL was down 0.12% to 3.2737, while EUR/BRL fell 0.25% to 3.6872.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 96.64.
