Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Financials and Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 2.41% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Embraer SA (SA:EMBR3), which rose 22.50% or 3.71 points to trade at 20.20 at the close. Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA:ELET6) added 5.70% or 1.13 points to end at 20.95 and Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA:ELET3) was up 4.96% or 0.85 points to 18.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Telefonica Brasil SA (SA:VIVT4), which lost 1.03% or 0.52 points to trade at 49.75 in late trade. Cielo SA (SA:CIEL3) declined 0.13% or 0.03 points to end at 23.10 and EcoRodovias SA (SA:ECOR3) 0.00% or 0.00 points to 11.80.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 269 to 114 and 41 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.14% to 25.16.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.20% or 2.50 to $1272.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.22% or 0.13 to hit $58.22 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract fell 0.87% or 1.07 to trade at $122.05 .
USD/BRL was up 0.32% to 3.3082, while EUR/BRL rose 0.30% to 3.9272.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 92.85.
