Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Basic Materials and Consumption sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 1.00%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Bradespar SA (SA:BRAP4), which rose 4.60% or 1.42 points to trade at 32.32 at the close. Raia Drogasil SA (SA:RADL3) added 4.07% or 3.01 points to end at 76.96 and Hypermarcas SA (SA:HYPE3) was up 3.93% or 1.05 points to 27.75 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA:ELET3), which lost 3.48% or 0.53 points to trade at 14.71 in late trade. Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA:ELET6) declined 2.94% or 0.53 points to end at 17.51 and B2W Cia Digital (SA:BTOW3) shed 1.96% or 0.48 points to 24.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 218 to 202 and 39 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.07% to 54.43.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.75% or 9.10 to $1199.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.51% or 0.35 to hit $68.94 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 0.80% or 0.80 to trade at $99.80 .
USD/BRL was down 0.99% to 4.1660, while EUR/BRL fell 1.52% to 4.8440.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 94.94.
