Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Real Estate and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 0.13% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Embraer SA (SA:EMBR3), which rose 3.80% or 0.78 points to trade at 21.30 at the close. Cia Siderurgica Nacional SA (SA:CSNA3) added 3.69% or 0.32 points to end at 9.00 and Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (SA:USIM5) was up 3.33% or 0.32 points to 9.92 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP - Energias do Brasil SA (SA:ENBR3), which lost 4.51% or 0.64 points to trade at 13.56 in late trade. RUMO Logistica Operadora Multimodal SA (SA:RAIL3) declined 3.00% or 0.39 points to end at 12.60 and Raia Drogasil SA (SA:RADL3) shed 2.48% or 2.24 points to 88.21.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 235 to 196 and 41 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.09% to 29.16.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.10% or 1.30 to $1317.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 2.24% or 1.35 to hit $61.72 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract fell 1.26% or 1.64 to trade at $128.43 .
USD/BRL was down 0.69% to 3.2365, while EUR/BRL fell 0.99% to 3.8906.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 91.84.
