Jan 31 (Reuters) - Australia's top electricity and gas retailer Origin Energy Ltd ORG.AX on Thursday reported a 45 percent rise in second-quarter revenue, helped by higher effective oil prices and realised spot LNG prices.
Origin, which controls about one third of the country's energy retailing market, said revenue for the quarter ended Dec. 31 rose to A$740.9 million ($536.78 million) from A$509.8 million a year earlier.
