March 7 (Reuters) - Australian shares are set for a flat open on Thursday as investors seek fresh cues for upward momentum after the index scaled a six-month high.
The local share price index futures YAPcm1 was 6 points higher at 6,253, a 7.4-point premium to the underlying S&P/ASX 200 index .AXJO close. The benchmark rose 0.8 percent on Wednesday.
New Zealand's benchmark S&P/NZX 50 index .NZ50 rose 0.2 percent in early trade.
