Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Manufacturing, Power and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX lost 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were MMK (MCX:MAGN), which rose 4.89% or 1.680 points to trade at 36.030 at the close. United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL) added 3.77% or 1.170 points to end at 32.200 and MVideo (MCX:MVID) was up 1.97% or 7.90 points to 409.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI), which lost 2.73% or 0.0237 points to trade at 0.8453 in late trade. AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) declined 2.52% or 0.300 points to end at 11.610 and Ros Agro PLC (MCX:AGRODR) shed 2.31% or 17 points to 718.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 108 to 101 and 21 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 2.14% to 20.980.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.48% or 5.95 to $1233.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.58% or 0.27 to hit $46.27 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.39% or 0.19 to trade at $48.72 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.47% to 59.3615, while EUR/RUB rose 0.31% to 68.0100.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 94.95.
