Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Household Goods, Aerospace & Defense and Food Producers sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.75%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.73%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were L`Oreal SA (PARIS:OREP), which rose 2.49% or 4.25 points to trade at 174.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Vivendi SA (PARIS:VIV) added 2.28% or 0.55 points to end at 24.48 and Danone SA (PARIS:DANO) was up 2.01% or 1.24 points to 62.93 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Technip (PARIS:TECF), which fell 1.81% or 0.94 points to trade at 50.88 at the close. Peugeot SA (PARIS:PEUP) declined 1.45% or 0.27 points to end at 17.98 and ArcelorMittal SA (AMS:ISPA) was down 1.45% or 0.12 points to 8.14.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Zodiac Aerospace (PARIS:ZODC) which rose 3.19% to 28.02, BIC (PARIS:BICP) which was up 3.08% to settle at 160.75 and Eurofins Scientific (PARIS:EUFI) which gained 2.91% to close at 307.75.
The worst performers were CGG (PARIS:GEPH) which was down 3.61% to 4.40 in late trade, Vallourec (PARIS:VLLP) which lost 2.87% to settle at 14.54 and Teleperformance (PARIS:ROCH) which was down 1.83% to 66.36 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 452 to 359 and 54 ended unchanged.
Shares in BIC (PARIS:BICP) rose to all time highs; up 3.08% or 4.80 to 160.75. Shares in Vallourec (PARIS:VLLP) fell to 5-year lows; falling 2.87% or 0.43 to 14.54.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 2.99% to 17.73.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.48% or 5.30 to $1089.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 3.80% or 1.79 to hit $45.33 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 4.66% or 2.44 to trade at $49.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.30% to 1.0951, while EUR/GBP fell 0.04% to 0.7027.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.28% at 97.59.
