Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Food & Beverages, Basic Metals and Wood, Paper & Printing sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.44%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Turcas Petrol (IS:TRCAS), which rose 6.06% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.750 at the close. Meanwhile, Vestel Beyaz Esya (IS:VESBE) added 5.35% or 0.650 points to end at 12.800 and Net Turizm (IS:NTTUR) was up 5.23% or 0.080 points to 1.610 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gubre Fabrik. (IS:GUBRF), which fell 4.37% or 0.37 points to trade at 8.10 at the close. Hurriyet Gzt. (IS:HURGZ) declined 4.11% or 0.030 points to end at 0.700 and Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) was down 4.00% or 0.010 points to 0.240.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 261 to 140 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in Net Turizm (IS:NTTUR) rose to all time highs; gaining 5.23% or 0.080 to 1.610.
Gold for August delivery was down 1.07% or 11.80 to $1091.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.65% or 0.84 to hit $50.02 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.90% or 0.52 to trade at $56.52 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.00% to 2.7115, while EUR/TRY rose 0.42% to 2.9494.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.51% at 97.91.
