Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumption and Electric Power sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa lost 0.70%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were ALL America Latina Logistica SA (SA:RUMO3), which rose 4.93% or 0.11 points to trade at 2.34 at the close. Kroton Educacional SA (SA:KROT3) added 3.84% or 0.350 points to end at 9.460 and Estacio Participacoes SA (SA:ESTC3) was up 3.60% or 0.43 points to 12.38 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Oi SA (SA:OIBR3), which lost 7.98% or 0.13 points to trade at 1.50 in late trade. BRF SA (SA:BRFS3) declined 7.68% or 4.16 points to end at 50.00 and Cia Hering (SA:HGTX3) shed 5.84% or 0.80 points to 12.90.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 163 to 121 and 26 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 0.17% to 48.26.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 1.28% or 15.80 to $1223.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.60% or 0.20 to hit $32.87 a barrel, while the May US coffee C contract fell 0.68% or 0.79 to trade at $115.33 .
USD/BRL was up 0.96% to 3.9935, while EUR/BRL rose 0.19% to 4.3682.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.69% at 98.11.
