Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Power, Oil & Gas and Mining sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX gained 0.55%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were FSK EES (MCX:FEES), which rose 6.64% or 0.0042 points to trade at 0.0673 at the close. Meanwhile, Gruppa LSR PAO (MCX:LSRG) added 3.28% or 19.0 points to end at 598.0 and Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) was up 2.54% or 0.0120 points to 0.4845 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were MMK (MCX:MAGN), which fell 1.94% or 0.365 points to trade at 18.490 at the close. PIK (MCX:PIKK) declined 1.65% or 2.90 points to end at 173.30 and NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK) was down 1.19% or 0.92 points to 76.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 119 to 72 and 9 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 0.44% to 29.810.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.16% or 1.80 to $1105.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.56% or 0.28 to hit $50.72 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.38% or 0.21 to trade at $56.87 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.10% to 56.922, while EUR/RUB rose 1.04% to 62.331.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.83% at 97.37.
