Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Food & Beverages, Banking and Transport sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.93%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Eczacibasi Yatirim (IS:ECZYT), which rose 8.91% or 0.90 points to trade at 11.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Alarko Gmyo (IS:ALGYO) added 8.24% or 2.15 points to end at 28.25 and Bizim Magazalari (IS:BIZIM) was up 5.49% or 0.75 points to 14.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vestel Beyaz Esya (IS:VESBE), which fell 4.01% or 0.600 points to trade at 14.350 at the close. Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) declined 3.85% or 0.010 points to end at 0.260 and Aygaz (IS:AYGAZ) was down 3.52% or 0.40 points to 10.95.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 219 to 177 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in Alarko Gmyo (IS:ALGYO) rose to all time highs; up 8.24% or 2.15 to 28.25.
Gold for December delivery was down 1.46% or 16.60 to $1119.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.77% or 1.28 to hit $47.42 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.37% or 1.16 to trade at $49.95 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.23% to 2.8308, while EUR/TRY fell 0.38% to 3.0997.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.45% at 97.43.
