Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Mining, Telecoms and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX fell 1.06%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were ANK Bashneft OAO Pref (MCX:BANE_p), which rose 6.29% or 90.0 points to trade at 1520.0 at the close. Meanwhile, E.ON Russia (MCX:EONR) added 5.18% or 0.1430 points to end at 2.9020 and RusHydro JSC (MCX:HYDR) was up 5.13% or 0.0300 points to 0.6150 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were FSK EES (MCX:FEES), which fell 6.75% or 0.0043 points to trade at 0.0591 at the close. Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) declined 5.61% or 0.0250 points to end at 0.4210 and PIK (MCX:PIKK) was down 5.43% or 10.40 points to 181.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 117 to 91 and 7 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.91% to 35.860 a new 1-month low.
Gold for December delivery was up 1.83% or 20.40 to $1137.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 3.50% or 1.64 to hit $45.26 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 2.13% or 1.04 to trade at $48.03 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.84% to 66.002, while EUR/RUB rose 0.30% to 75.058.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.22% at 94.83.
