Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Services and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.17%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 3.61% or 0.0530 points to trade at 1.5230 at the close. Meanwhile, Teixeira Duarte (LS:TDSA) added 1.14% or 0.0030 points to end at 0.2660 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) was up 0.82% or 0.0850 points to 10.5050 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which fell 1.76% or 0.0040 points to trade at 0.2230 at the close. Sonae (LS:YSO) declined 1.36% or 0.0120 points to end at 0.8710 and Impresa SGPS (LS:IMPA) was down 1.33% or 0.0060 points to 0.4450.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 28 to 13 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sonae (LS:YSO) fell to 52-week lows; falling 1.36% or 0.0120 to 0.8710. Shares in Impresa SGPS (LS:IMPA) fell to 52-week lows; losing 1.33% or 0.0060 to 0.4450.
Brent oil for April delivery was down 3.08% or 1.03 to $32.36 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.12% or 0.33 to hit $29.11 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 2.32% or 28.70 to trade at $1210.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.12% to 1.1142, while EUR/GBP rose 0.77% to 0.7788.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.10% at 96.84.
