Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Building & Construction, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Telecoms & IT sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Gamesa (MC:GAM), which rose 2.77% or 0.412 points to trade at 15.312 at the close. Meanwhile, Ferrovial (MC:FER) added 2.00% or 0.435 points to end at 22.140 and Acciona (MC:ANA) was up 1.72% or 1.305 points to 77.095 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Int.Airl.Grp (MC:ICAG), which fell 2.60% or 0.218 points to trade at 8.175 at the close. Obrascon Huarte Lain (MC:OHL) declined 2.30% or 0.154 points to end at 6.534 and Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) was down 2.29% or 0.850 points to 36.250.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 113 to 104 and 3 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.33% or 3.60 to $1084.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.06% or 0.43 to hit $41.17 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.93% or 0.41 to trade at $44.05 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.65% to 1.0704, while EUR/GBP fell 0.48% to 0.7036.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.47% at 99.35.
