Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumption, Industrials and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Smiles ON (SA:SMLE3), which rose 4.01% or 2.08 points to trade at 53.97 at the close. Qualicorp SA (SA:QUAL3) added 2.90% or 0.54 points to end at 19.18 and Natura Cosmeticos SA (SA:NATU3) was up 2.33% or 0.71 points to 31.23 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (SA:USIM5), which lost 3.29% or 0.12 points to trade at 3.53 in late trade. CEMIG - Companhia Energetica Minas Gerais Pref (SA:CMIG4) declined 2.28% or 0.20 points to end at 8.58 and Cia Paranaense de Energia (SA:CPLE6) shed 2.24% or 0.77 points to 33.63.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 208 to 150 and 40 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 4.02% to 33.63.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.41% or 5.50 to $1320.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.33% or 0.16 to hit $47.99 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 0.61% or 0.92 to trade at $151.15 .
USD/BRL was down 0.09% to 3.2567, while EUR/BRL rose 0.10% to 3.6608.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.05% at 95.38.
