Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Financial Services and Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1), which rose 1.36% or 1.060 points to trade at 78.720 at the close. Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) added 1.03% or 0.340 points to end at 33.390 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) was up 0.77% or 3.690 points to 480.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which lost 4.48% or 1.450 points to trade at 30.930 in late trade. Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) declined 3.89% or 0.800 points to end at 19.790 and Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) shed 2.08% or 2.130 points to 100.500.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 90 to 80 and 5 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.70% or 9.30 to $1344.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 3.57% or 1.67 to hit $45.13 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 3.80% or 1.84 to trade at $46.63 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.27% to 18.3925, while EUR/MXN rose 0.62% to 20.4046.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.23% at 96.33.
