Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC declined 0.12%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX), which rose 2.15% or 0.940 points to trade at 44.740 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) added 1.68% or 0.530 points to end at 31.990 and Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA) was up 1.25% or 0.730 points to 59.130 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which fell 2.78% or 0.270 points to trade at 9.450 at the close. Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) declined 2.37% or 8.970 points to end at 370.000 and Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA) was down 2.08% or 1.51 points to 71.01.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 88 to 80 and 7 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.79% or 8.50 to $1067.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 3.43% or 1.30 to hit $36.80 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 3.43% or 1.30 to trade at $36.59 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.06% to 17.2551, while EUR/MXN rose 0.05% to 18.9326.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.04% at 97.98.
