Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Manufacturing sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX lost 1.04%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI), which rose 3.00% or 0.0135 points to trade at 0.4635 at the close. Meanwhile, MegaFon OAO (MCX:MFON) added 2.34% or 19.00 points to end at 830.00 and NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK) was up 2.30% or 1.71 points to 76.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK), which fell 2.46% or 14.80 points to trade at 586.50 at the close. Magnit (MCX:MGNT) declined 2.39% or 275.0 points to end at 11216.0 and Gruppa LSR PAO (MCX:LSRG) was down 2.30% or 14.0 points to 594.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 114 to 95 and 9 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.49% to 36.370.
Gold for December delivery was down 2.50% or 29.40 to $1146.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.44% or 0.20 to hit $46.14 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.07% or 0.04 to trade at $49.02 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.34% to 64.169, while EUR/RUB rose 0.71% to 70.319.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 97.47.
