Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Services, Finance & Investment and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General rose 0.02%, while the ADX General index gained 0.78%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT), which rose 4.46% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.170 at the close. Takaful House (DU:DTKF) added 2.63% or 0.030 points to end at 1.170 and Damac Properties Dubai Co PSC (DU:DAMAC) was up 1.95% or 0.050 points to 2.610 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Union Properties PJSC (DU:UPRO), which lost 2.94% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.990 in late trade. Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) declined 2.55% or 0.011 points to end at 0.421 and Commercial Bank of Dubai P.S.C. (DU:CBD) shed 2.17% or 0.100 points to 4.500.
The top performers on the ADX General were Abu Dhabi National Hotels Co (AD:ADNH) which rose 6.67% to 3.20, Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which was up 3.51% to settle at 0.590 and Natl Bk Of Ad (AD:NBAD) which gained 1.77% to close at 11.50.
The worst performers were Finance House (AD:FH) which was down 10.00% to 1.440 in late trade, Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which lost 10.00% to settle at 0.810 and Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which was down 6.07% to 2.630 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 21 to 14 and 2 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 13 rose and 8 declined, while 8 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 1.21% or 0.58 to $47.24 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.16% or 0.59 to hit $50.20 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 1.10% or 13.77 to trade at $1234.73 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.43% to 4.0147.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 99.01.
