Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms & IT, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 2.45%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Gamesa (MADRID:GAM), which rose 5.24% or 0.580 points to trade at 11.645 at the close. Meanwhile, Amadeus IT (MADRID:AMA) added 4.46% or 1.613 points to end at 37.767 and Inditex (MADRID:ITX) was up 4.08% or 1.160 points to 29.560 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Abengoa B (MADRID:ABGek), which fell 6.77% or 0.064 points to trade at 0.875 at the close. Obrascon Huarte Lain (MADRID:OHL) declined 2.69% or 0.320 points to end at 11.565 and Arcel. Mittal (MADRID:MTS) was down 1.64% or 0.084 points to 5.038.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 161 to 46 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in Obrascon Huarte Lain (MADRID:OHL) fell to 3-years lows; falling 2.69% or 0.320 to 11.565. Shares in Arcel. Mittal (MADRID:MTS) fell to all time lows; losing 1.64% or 0.084 to 5.038.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.73% or 8.40 to $1145.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.80% or 0.36 to hit $45.27 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.20% or 0.10 to trade at $48.08 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.33% to 1.1195, while EUR/GBP rose 0.18% to 0.7379.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.32% at 96.42.
