Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Construction & Materials, Industrials and Support Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.33% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were OCI (AMS:OCI), which rose 14.11% or 3.810 points to trade at 30.810 at the close. Meanwhile, Randstad (AMS:RAND) added 1.76% or 1.11 points to end at 64.35 and Aalberts Industries (AMS:AALB) was up 1.74% or 0.49 points to 28.98 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Altice SA (AMS:ATCE), which fell 1.24% or 1.60 points to trade at 127.35 at the close. KPN Kon (AMS:KPN) declined 1.06% or 0.038 points to end at 3.555 and Gemalto (AMS:GTO) was down 0.58% or 0.46 points to 79.35.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 170 to 51 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Randstad (AMS:RAND) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 1.76% or 1.11 to 64.35.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 0.85% to 15.42 a new 6-months low.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.29% or 0.66 to $50.55 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.94% or 0.54 to hit $56.56 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 2.15% or 24.30 to trade at $1107.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.0853, while EUR/GBP rose 0.24% to 0.6963.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 97.99.
