Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Media, Oil & Gas and Information Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.61%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Synthos SA (WA:SNS), which rose 2.47% or 0.10 points to trade at 4.15 at the close. OrangePL (WA:OPL) added 1.94% or 0.12 points to end at 6.29 and Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) was up 1.84% or 5.20 points to 288.15 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS), which lost 2.55% or 0.60 points to trade at 22.90 in late trade. Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) declined 2.14% or 1.23 points to end at 56.32 and Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) shed 2.09% or 1.35 points to 63.12.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 234 to 232 and 191 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 4.97% or 1.66 to $31.73 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 4.12% or 1.43 to hit $33.26 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 1.27% or 15.40 to trade at $1225.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.42% to 4.3777, while USD/PLN rose 0.56% to 3.9738.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.11% at 97.49.
