Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Services and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 3.20% or 0.0570 points to trade at 1.8380 at the close. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 2.43% or 0.0810 points to end at 3.4100 and Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) was up 2.11% or 0.0230 points to 1.1110 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 3.50% or 0.0050 points to trade at 0.1380 in late trade. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 2.36% or 0.0009 points to end at 0.0373 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) shed 0.57% or 0.0040 points to 0.6990.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 31 to 16 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was up 1.40% or 0.64 to $46.22 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.25% or 0.55 to hit $44.59 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.62% or 7.65 to trade at $1251.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.24% to 1.1324, while EUR/GBP rose 0.43% to 0.7782.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.08% at 94.37.
