Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Real Estate & Construction, Consumer Staples and Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General added 0.89%, while the ADX General index gained 0.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Emaar Malls Group (DU:EMAA), which rose 3.16% or 0.090 points to trade at 2.940 at the close. Damac Properties Dubai Co PSC (DU:DAMAC) added 3.02% or 0.070 points to end at 2.390 and Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) was up 2.76% or 0.040 points to 1.490 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Emirate Integrated Telecom Co PJSC (DU:DU), which lost 1.35% or 0.090 points to trade at 6.560 in late trade. Dubai Investments PJSC (DU:DINV) declined 0.95% or 0.020 points to end at 2.080 and SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) shed 0.47% or 0.003 points to 0.637.
The top performers on the ADX General were Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which rose 6.12% to 0.520, Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which was up 3.64% to settle at 0.570 and Methaq (AD:METH) which gained 3.45% to close at 0.900.
The worst performers were Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which was down 9.09% to 0.400 in late trade, Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which lost 2.71% to settle at 7.55 and Buhaira Nat In (AD:ABNI) which was down 2.00% to 2.450 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 23 to 5 and 5 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 14 fell and 10 advanced, while 3 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.32% or 0.55 to $41.05 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.42% or 0.62 to hit $42.91 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.16% or 2.15 to trade at $1355.35 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED fell 0.12% to 4.1005.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.16% at 95.68.
