Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Oil & Gas and Support Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.34%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which rose 2.29% or 0.09 points to trade at 3.97 at the close. Meanwhile, Altice NV (AS:ATCA) added 1.50% or 0.19 points to end at 12.89 and Gemalto (AS:GTO) was up 0.21% or 0.12 points to 55.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vopak (AS:VOPA), which fell 1.27% or 0.52 points to trade at 40.29 at the close. DSM Kon (AS:DSMN) declined 1.11% or 0.53 points to end at 46.83 and OCI (AS:OCI) was down 1.10% or 0.250 points to 22.415.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 92 to 81 and 5 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 2.05% to 22.00.
Crude oil for February delivery was down 3.38% or 1.28 to $36.59 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 3.08% or 1.17 to hit $36.62 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.76% or 8.10 to trade at $1059.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.12% to 1.0910, while EUR/GBP fell 0.22% to 0.7356.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.21% at 98.44.
