Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Finance & Investment, Telecoms and Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General rose 0.89%, while the ADX General index added 0.96%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC), which rose 8.41% or 0.090 points to trade at 1.160 at the close. Meanwhile, Deyaar Development PJSC (DU:DEYR) added 7.14% or 0.035 points to end at 0.525 and Union Properties PJSC (DU:UPRO) was up 5.97% or 0.042 points to 0.745 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which fell 9.52% or 0.160 points to trade at 1.520 at the close. AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK) declined 6.03% or 0.120 points to end at 1.870 and Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) was down 3.29% or 0.019 points to 0.559.
The top performers on the ADX General were Rak Cmt & Cons (AD:RAKC) which rose 6.84% to 1.25, Methaq (AD:METH) which was up 6.25% to settle at 0.680 and Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which gained 5.06% to close at 0.830.
The worst performers were Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which was down 8.71% to 2.41 in late trade, Ad Aviation (AD:ADAV) which lost 6.90% to settle at 2.70 and Abu Dhabi National Hotels Co (AD:ADNH) which was down 6.79% to 2.61 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 16 to 11; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 16 rose and 8 declined, while 1 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ad Aviation (AD:ADAV) fell to 52-week lows; down 6.90% or 0.20 to 2.70.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 1.72% or 0.70 to $41.44 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 1.10% or 0.49 to hit $44.96 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.98% or 10.60 to trade at $1091.50 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.38% to 3.9406.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.31% at 99.19.
