Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Insurance, Telecoms and Real Estate & Construction sectors led shares higher while losses in the Transport, Banking and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General lost 0.28%, while the ADX General index gained 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV), which rose 11.49% or 0.051 points to trade at 0.495 at the close. Meanwhile, Takaful House (DU:DTKF) added 4.60% or 0.025 points to end at 0.569 and Islamic Arab Insurance Company (DU:SALAMA) was up 2.91% or 0.014 points to 0.495 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dubai Islamic Bank (DU:DISB), which fell 1.89% or 0.130 points to trade at 6.750 at the close. National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) declined 1.63% or 0.020 points to end at 1.230 and Air Arabia PJSC (DU:AIRA) was down 1.37% or 0.020 points to 1.440.
The top performers on the ADX General were Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which rose 1.91% to 1.60, Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which was up 1.64% to settle at 0.620 and Emirates Telec (AD:ETEL) which gained 1.34% to close at 15.10.
The worst performers were Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which was down 8.33% to 0.330 in late trade, Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which lost 7.41% to settle at 6.25 and Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which was down 6.12% to 2.61 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 13 to 12 and 1 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 13 fell and 8 advanced, while 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) fell to all time lows; falling 8.33% or 0.030 to 0.330. Shares in Emirates Telec (AD:ETEL) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 1.34% or 0.20 to 15.10.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.12% or 0.06 to $47.16 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.64% or 0.32 to hit $50.57 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.08% or 12.60 to trade at $1151.90 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.16% to 4.1798.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.01% at 94.89.
