Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Technology, Industrials and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.30%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Air Liquide SA (PA:AIRP), which rose 1.14% or 1.08 points to trade at 95.89 at the close. Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP) added 0.75% or 0.47 points to end at 63.49 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) was up 0.64% or 0.55 points to 85.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Accor SA (PA:ACCP), which lost 3.04% or 1.18 points to trade at 37.42 in late trade. Cap Gemini SA (PA:CAPP) declined 1.83% or 1.47 points to end at 78.72 and Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) shed 1.78% or 0.142 points to 7.843.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Aperam (AS:APAM) which rose 1.76% to 35.06, Rexel (PA:RXL) which was up 1.50% to settle at 12.15 and Ipsen (PA:IPN) which gained 1.18% to close at 54.00.
The worst performers were Europcar Groupe SA (PA:EUCAR) which was down 3.63% to 7.25 in late trade, Zodiac Aerospace (PA:ZODC) which lost 3.58% to settle at 20.76 and Accor SA (PA:ACCP) which was down 3.04% to 37.42 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 408 to 213 and 125 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 4.37% to 19.39 a new 1-month low.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.13% or 1.70 to $1330.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.35% or 0.16 to hit $45.84 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.38% or 0.18 to trade at $47.55 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.56% to 1.1059, while EUR/GBP rose 1.05% to 0.8407.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.57% at 96.65.
