Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Sports, Telecoms and Basic Metals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Gozde Girisim Sermayesi Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:GOZDE), which rose 20.00% or 0.460 points to trade at 2.760 at the close. Aksa Akrilik Kimya Sanayi AS (IS:AKSA) added 7.45% or 0.79 points to end at 11.40 and Aselsan Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:ASELS) was up 5.89% or 1.15 points to 20.68 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Turk Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:TTKOM), which lost 2.82% or 0.18 points to trade at 6.20 in late trade. Trabzonspor Sportif Yatirim ve Futbol Isletmeciligi Ticaret AS (IS:TSPOR) declined 2.60% or 0.070 points to end at 2.620 and Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS) shed 2.27% or 0.010 points to 0.430.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 180 to 167 and 57 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.08% or 1.06 to $1256.56 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.94% or 0.46 to hit $48.38 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.82% or 0.42 to trade at $51.10 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.94% to 3.5214, while EUR/TRY fell 0.85% to 3.8411.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 98.97.
