Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.87%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 3.75% or 0.0870 points to trade at 2.4090 at the close. The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) added 2.70% or 0.1050 points to end at 3.9940 and Sonae (LS:YSO) was up 2.57% or 0.0240 points to 0.9570 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Montepio (LS:MPIO), which lost 1.88% or 0.009 points to trade at 0.470 in late trade. Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) declined 1.27% or 0.185 points to end at 14.395 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) shed 0.67% or 0.0020 points to 0.2980.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 21 to 15 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was up 0.62% or 0.30 to $48.59 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.63% or 0.29 to hit $46.37 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.18% or 2.28 to trade at $1266.62 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.03% to 1.1201, while EUR/GBP fell 0.77% to 0.8783.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 97.02.
