Investing.com – Sweden equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 added 0.55%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were SSAB AB ser. A (ST:SSABa), which rose 4.21% or 1.41 points to trade at 34.90 at the close. Volvo, AB ser. B (ST:VOLVb) added 2.03% or 2.56 points to end at 128.46 and Svenska Handelsbanken AB A (ST:SHBa) was up 1.59% or 1.9 points to 121.3 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ABB Ltd (ST:ABB), which lost 1.91% or 3.9 points to trade at 200.6 in late trade. H & M Hennes & Mauritz AB B (ST:HMb) declined 0.46% or 1.0 points to end at 217.5 and Skanska AB ser. B (ST:SKAb) shed 0.39% or 0.80 points to 206.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 356 to 320 and 96 ended unchanged on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 1.62% or 0.85 to $51.56 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 1.69% or 0.93 to hit $53.96 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 1.05% or 13.60 to trade at $1280.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/SEK was up 0.15% to 9.6228, while USD/SEK rose 0.35% to 8.9874.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.33% at 99.74.
