Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Food & Beverages and Electricity sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Vestel Beyaz Esya (IS:VESBE), which rose 11.87% or 1.460 points to trade at 13.760 at the close. Gozde Girisim (IS:GOZDE) added 5.38% or 0.120 points to end at 2.350 and Vestel (IS:VESTL) was up 2.81% or 0.200 points to 7.320 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret D (IS:KRDMD), which lost 2.84% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.370 in late trade. Turk Traktor (IS:TTRAK) declined 2.44% or 2.10 points to end at 84.10 and Net Turizm (IS:NTTUR) shed 2.36% or 0.030 points to 1.240.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 191 to 150 and 65 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 1.36% or 18.05 to $1344.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.11% or 0.05 to hit $44.39 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.60% or 0.76 to trade at $46.87 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.69% to 2.9268, while EUR/TRY rose 0.17% to 3.2894.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.81% at 94.96.
