Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Materials, Consumer Goods & Services and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 1.07% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which rose 3.90% or 0.660 points to trade at 17.600 at the close. Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) added 3.13% or 0.950 points to end at 31.330 and Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA) was up 3.00% or 0.64 points to 21.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which lost 2.93% or 0.770 points to trade at 25.480 in late trade. Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) declined 2.01% or 0.450 points to end at 21.900 and Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA) shed 1.08% or 0.680 points to 62.300.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 194 to 112 and 6 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.34% or 4.30 to $1258.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.85% or 0.93 to hit $51.17 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 2.15% or 1.14 to trade at $54.26 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.81% to 18.8261, while EUR/MXN rose 0.88% to 20.0981.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 100.43.
