Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Mining and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX declined 0.67%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were Ros Agro PLC (MCX:AGRODR), which rose 3.08% or 26 points to trade at 869 at the close. ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS) added 2.62% or 2.270 points to end at 88.970 and FSK EES (MCX:FEES) was up 1.37% or 0.0024 points to 0.1760 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY), which lost 8.26% or 73.00 points to trade at 811.00 in late trade. MVideo (MCX:MVID) declined 2.48% or 8.70 points to end at 342.60 and MegaFon OAO (MCX:MFON) shed 2.05% or 13.00 points to 622.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 122 to 100 and 27 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 4.19% to 23.790.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.17% or 2.25 to $1342.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 3.35% or 1.55 to hit $44.77 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 3.06% or 1.46 to trade at $46.19 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.44% to 63.9820, while EUR/RUB rose 0.83% to 71.865.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 95.37.
