Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Transport and Textile & Leather sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.92% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which rose 4.76% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.220 at the close. Teknosa IC Ve Dis Ticaret (IS:TKNSA) added 3.91% or 0.220 points to end at 5.850 and Carrefoursa Carrefour Sabanci Ticaret Merkezi AS (IS:CRFSA) was up 3.27% or 0.24 points to 7.57 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Eregli Demir Celik (IS:EREGL), which lost 4.17% or 0.190 points to trade at 4.370 in late trade. Kordsa Global (IS:KORDS) declined 3.99% or 0.24 points to end at 5.77 and Ege Endustri (IS:EGEEN) shed 3.36% or 9.40 points to 270.10.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 215 to 128 and 64 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.37% or 4.75 to $1270.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.87% or 0.40 to hit $45.83 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.37% or 0.65 to trade at $46.95 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.07% to 2.9566, while EUR/TRY fell 0.34% to 3.3682.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.28% at 94.06.
