Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Building & Construction, Consumer Goods and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA), which rose 6.34% or 0.303 points to trade at 5.080 at the close. Telefonica (MC:TEF) added 2.23% or 0.206 points to end at 9.466 and Repsol (MC:REP) was up 1.47% or 0.165 points to 11.410 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which lost 5.08% or 0.221 points to trade at 4.131 in late trade. Bankinter (MC:BKT) declined 1.46% or 0.093 points to end at 6.263 and ACS Const. (MC:ACS) shed 1.38% or 0.380 points to 27.130.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 115 to 76 and 19 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.30% or 3.85 to $1271.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.48% or 0.22 to hit $46.01 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.82% or 0.39 to trade at $47.21 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.39% to 1.1382, while EUR/GBP fell 0.44% to 0.7874.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.29% at 94.07.
