Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms & IT, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.99%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which rose 4.35% or 0.201 points to trade at 4.818 at the close. Meanwhile, Obrascon Huarte Lain (MC:OHL) added 3.95% or 0.263 points to end at 6.926 and Acerinox (MC:ACX) was up 3.34% or 0.335 points to 10.375 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Telefonica (MC:TEF), which fell 4.98% or 0.618 points to trade at 11.777 at the close. Int.Airl.Grp (MC:ICAG) declined 3.11% or 0.263 points to end at 8.190 and Inditex (MC:ITX) was down 1.83% or 0.610 points to 32.735.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 118 to 97 and 3 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.15% or 1.60 to $1067.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.06% or 0.43 to hit $40.24 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.06% or 0.03 to trade at $43.55 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.0642, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.6992.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 99.77.
