Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financial Services, Telecoms Services and Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC declined 0.96%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA), which rose 2.38% or 0.670 points to trade at 28.790 at the close. Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC) added 1.48% or 1.630 points to end at 111.680 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) was up 1.27% or 6.100 points to 485.650 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which lost 2.06% or 0.550 points to trade at 26.140 in late trade. Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) declined 1.95% or 0.510 points to end at 25.610 and Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) shed 1.80% or 1.970 points to 107.740.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 74 to 71 and 10 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was up 0.53% or 6.30 to $1202.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.52% or 0.27 to hit $52.64 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.05% or 0.03 to trade at $55.70 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.00% to 21.7377, while EUR/MXN rose 0.00% to 23.0485.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.36% at 101.53.
