Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Building & Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 2.79%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which rose 11.79% or 0.349 points to trade at 3.310 at the close. Meanwhile, Obrascon Huarte Lain (MC:OHL) added 8.50% or 0.381 points to end at 4.863 and Repsol (MC:REP) was up 5.47% or 0.480 points to 9.250 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE), which fell 2.36% or 0.525 points to trade at 21.750 at the close. Enagas (MC:ENAG) declined 1.50% or 0.380 points to end at 25.015 and Indra A (MC:IDR) was down 1.02% or 0.084 points to 8.115.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 183 to 27 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) fell to 5-year lows; down 2.36% or 0.525 to 21.750.
Gold for April delivery was down 0.20% or 2.40 to $1205.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 6.65% or 1.93 to hit $30.97 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 7.52% or 2.42 to trade at $34.60 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.1139, while EUR/GBP fell 0.10% to 0.7782.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.09% at 96.81.
